even when the skier becomes more comfortable on skis and the dog becomes more comfortable in the harness, teaching a dog to pull after 8 years of conditioning (aka yelling and discipline) to 'not pull' takes time. using their predator/prey instincts by putting something out in front to chase may help.
moral of the story: we may need to add a younger and/or poorly trained dog to the pack...or get ourselves a deer.
