there's not much to say aside from the fact that it was awesome. a few days of snorkelling off a sail boat through coral gardens with sea turtles and nurse sharks, followed by a week in the jungle catching and chasing bats with some of the most prominent bat biologists in the industry.
the scenery was gorgeous, the seafood was fantastic, the research project was a success and the company was both inspiring and entertaining. in the back of my mind i'm already planning for the trip back next year, but we'll see if i'm able to pull myself away from the alaskan mountain range long enough to make it.

belize was never really on my radar of places to go or things to see, but i must say it was a delightful country full of all sorts of unexpected diversity. in all honesty, it really wouldn't take all that much tugging on my arm to get me to return, especially if more bat research and snorkelling was involved.
