It was long, it was beautiful, and it was a fantastic way to start our great northern adventures. During the five days of driving and four days of ferrying, we managed to get hit with a major snow storm and continuous rains, see a few hundred eagles, drive on sheet-ice out of Haines, boat along side a pod of dolphins, celebrate New Years with dry salami sandwiches and The Goonies re-run in a budget roadside motel, and experience more incredible mountain views than I thought were possible (as apparent by the plethora of mountain photos posted below).
It was a great way to arrive in this new place we now call home!
